so Selina kinda hinted to me that she would love a gigantic plush Odie sometime
this was what I was working on the day of Selina's 21st and gave up on so that I wouldn't just straight up miss the whole night haha
short of making it room-sized, I tried to make it as big as I reasonably could
little sketch to plan out how I would make the thing
I very quickly learnt that Odie is a freaking WEIRD shaped object
his open neck takes up about like 2/3 of his body I feel like
so I started with the ears and kind of tried to do it inside out
it was a little strange trying to plan out what order I would stitch him together, and if I mucked up I wouldn't be able to flip it inside-out afterwards
I spent a lot of time just standing there rubbing my chin trying to figure out how I would do it
I broke a needle !
alright so I got the mouth and whole tongue thing together
he kind of looks like a weird sausage at this point
all done!
too bad that his ears can't stand up on their own, since they're so heavy
cartoon physics really don't translate into real life
look at that lil' butt
so I took a photo with him so you can see what size he is
he's like.. a metre or so? it was a lot of stuffing haha
and then I took him outside to take some photos
I had to lean him on a chair though, bigger toys really have trouble staying up by themselves
guess that's something to improve on next time though, I had a lot of fun putting this guy together
I was really holding my breath halfway through hoping it would actually end up looking like Odie haha, because he was looking more like a really bizarre worm at that point
anyway Selina really loved it! and so did the real Odie haha
we decided to call the real dog Dodie and the plush one Plodie
here's a photo she sent me of Dodie lying on top of Plodie
