Sannie's 21st

today was Sannie's 21st
she's the first in our group to turn 21, the rest are gonna hit the magic number later this year
we went to a park to play some games that Judie put together for us before heading out to dinner

the first game was everyone vs Sannie
we had to work in partners to rip her tag off, and she had to eliminate us by breaking this piece of paper joining the partners together
this fragile piece of paper here

everyone in their RM shirts (except Wynne for some reason, she recorded the first round though!)
speaking of which, here's the first round video
Damo and I pretty much ripped our bands straight away when it started woops

which our team won, sorry Sannie
that fall looked painful man
everyone was pretty puffed out after just the first round haha
except for Wilson and Caf who hid in a bush the whole time
we took a breather on this bench while Judie tried to find out where Caf and Wilson were

I was being an idiot and tried to rip Wilson's tag off for fun
and it ended up ripping the shirt, oops
mah badddd

the next game we played was Capture the Flag
you can see the two teams above, I was with the team on the left
I recorded the match, but since everyone was playing I just left the camera on the ground
turns out it only managed to record one side of the playing field
I edited out the parts where nothing really happened

our team won the first round
looking back that was really sneaky of me haha
sorry bout it
we chilled a little before the next round getting our breath back

before we played the next round I tried to fix up the tags which were broken using safety pins
it worked, somewhat
Judie offered to record the next round leading to much better camera work

we won again, thanks to Homan
it was insanely windy today, check out Sannie and Choo re-enacting the scene from Titanic

Caf's shirt ripped too haha
I think we need better quality shirts next time round
this time the tags didn't rip, but the shirts did...they were a few dollars each so fair enough though

check out Wynne's Instax polaroid camera, it's awesome
polaroids are pretty neat
we took some group photos

Wynne's polaroid
it stole Joey's eyebrows and gave them to Wilson
the weather went south so we headed back to Wynne's house to give Sannie her presents

this present is so suss
not inconspicuous at all

Sannie and Choo playing ping pong in the backyard
giving us a chance to sign Sannie's card without her noticing

check out these huge tubs of Indo crackers
whenever we go to Wynne's house, her mum always gives us so much food, we're so spoilt haha

Sannie's cake and all her presents lined up on the table
started off with the huge 1.8m teddy bear you saw in the car earlier

haha it's seriously massive

here's Choo playing with the box
#throwback to when we were kids

and Joey gave Sannie the card she made
that character on the cover is Sannie's favourite

not sure what Sannie chose to name the bear
could replace Homan soon since it's taller and also possibly more financially secure
Judie made a frame full of photos for Sannie
including the cartwheeling gif from Rye along the bottom

Caf thought these flip flops were amazing

sorry about the weird light on Judie's face
Joey was also taking a photo on Judie's camera, that's the autofocus light from her camera haha
next I gave Sannie my monkey plush

couple photo
after that we gathered round the kitchen bench to eat some cake
and watch Sannie open Caf and Wilson's present

their little box contained a music box, travel sized alcohol + some other things
sat and watched the videos from today before heading out to eat dinner at Mama Papa

it was quite a long drive to get there, here's a video I took on the way of us all driving

Mama Papa is a Thai restaurant all the way in Malvern, near Armadale
the interior's really nice
got a great vibe

the food here was great, I'd say it was like mid-range priced

mortar papaya salad

I should mention Thai food has quite a bit of chili used in it so
I didn't eat much of this dish
but it's one of their more popular dishes

roti with satay

dunno what this was haha
think it might be called the 'crying tiger' since I'm looking at the online menu right now and that's the closest in description

crispy chicken sweet n sour

Caf's herbal fish barramundi

I got this king prawn pad thai, since it wasn't spicy
it was really nice, I'd order it again

this was some variety of stir fry with salmon

they gave us Hershey's kisses with the bill, which was a nice touch
Hershey's kisses are the bomb
the food here was top notch, there's a reason it has 92% on Urbanspoon

we drove to Yo-chi for some froyo, since it was nearby
I thought this cloud looked like Appa from ATLA

this person's cup is so much healthier than I ever get mine
ended the day chatting in Yo-chi
it was a seriously long day today haha
but it's good to hang out with err'body

happy 21st Sannieeeee
(he says 9 months later)
