Mockingjay pt. I

ya so continuing on the from the last post
we saw Mockingjay, I felt like it dragged on a bit personally I was like wHERE's part II already?? 
that
that coulda been one movie
but it was okay the one good thing about this franchise is that they've been pretty much nailing the accuracy to the books which for some weird reason never happens usually
anyway we ordered a bunch of takeout and headed back to Selina's where we showed Guardians of the Galaxy to people who hadn't watched it

I gave the present to Judie on the way out and she called me later that night saying way too many nice things

one thing including that it was also wrapped in actual wrapping paper (I have a history of wrapping presents in newspaper ok)
there's a reason for this THO, because maybe you don’t have time to buy wrapping paper at 8am the day before school starts and maybe you don’t want to use Christmas themed wrapping paper which for some reason is always the only spare wrapping paper in the house so you just use newspaper which is like crafty or something right?? yea

don't worry I am slowly becoming an adult now

Papercut for Judie

okay so
I had planned to do a papercut for Judie's 21st present which featured our whole Mount group, named Mount Kids
but it was so much more time consuming than I thought it'd be haha that the image below is actually all I had done on the actual day of her b'day

which wasn't really a whole lot
not gonna lie my procrastination may have also played a role in this but I thought I could catch up last minute..
NOPE
that did not happen

so after her b'day I kinda worked on it slowly and took my time unlike on the day where I was kind of cutting in a mad frenzy that was neither safe nor calming, at all
I took a few progress shots just because I think I had to do something else in between cutting all the parts out

so I took a photo after I finished a little section or so
honestly it was so repetitive I began to see images in my mind of the little wedges of paper coming out over and over again whenever I was lying in bed trying to go to sleep

and FINALLY I finished it ! almost a month later though, oh nooo oh well
just in time for us meeting up to see Mockingjay Part I

I put it in the frame and this was the only photo I got, which was on my way out the door to meet up for the movie
I was late too...oops, I feel like I always end up with scissors and tape and glue sticking stuff together in the bus or train or car to places
it was okay though, shout out to ridiculously long trailers before every movie because even though I was half an hour late I only missed like 5 - 10 minutes of the movie
yea sticking this thing down was a trial in itself actually but eh okay enough complaining I was pretty proud of this thing once it was all put together
and Judie really loved it, so that's the most important part !

Chooi-ee's 21st

today was Chooi-ee's Ghibli themed 21st

I was a little late admittedly, putting the finishing touches on my costume
and by finishing touches, I mean just straight up finishing it so that I actually had something to wear that wasn't five scraps of unsewn fabric

these guys both came in Totoro hoodies, which there was a whole bunch of and Judie was Chihiro from Spirited Away

Wynne as Arrietty & Joey as Kiki
true fact Joey actually has not watched any Ghibli films so she had no idea what to do
get cultured, Jo ! (I kid I kid, your costume was great)

I only took a few snaps before going to get food cos momma was HUNGRY

there was a whole spread of food as well as punch

yea I was busy stuffing my face for a while so I left my camera behind for people to play with

I actually think I was just continually eating the whole night actually

I feel like this guy missed the brief

Sannie as the younger sister from Totoro (Mei)

these guys as the wood spirits from Princess Mononoke ! they look crazy (crazy good but also just plain crazy) haha
Caf wanted to take a picture with them of course since she came as San from the same movie

the birthday girl! as Ponyo complete with ham, plus Jo

and then a bunch of people gave speeches including Judie and Sannie and there were also a few performances
as with all speeches they were a combination of nostalgic, funny and embarrassing
check out Wynne's peg haha, it's funny to me cos it's a normal sized peg instead of a really large one like it would be for Arrietty

and then an amazing Totoro cake was brought out! made by one of Chooi-ee's friends
this in my opinion is pure artistic excellence
