Night Noodle Market

today we met up to celebrate Brandon's birthday and check out the Night Noodle Market that's happening near Flinders right now
Best feeling ever, being free from exams to hang out

because I know he likes Assassin's Creed

then met up at Flinders
it was absolutely pouring
these people were all crowded up because they didn't know how to walk around a puddle

the Night Noodle Market is basically a place to try lots of Asian cuisine, street food style
there are tents set up with food from a few of Melbourne's more well known eateries
this was B's favourite Chin Chin

we all split up to look for different stuff to eat
I got this box of calamari tentacles, and the weather cleared up a bit

lots of people today, hence there were pretty long lines queuing up for food
I was bored and taking photos haha

those two things were $22 already, so it wasn't exactly street-food-priced
I headed back to meet up with the gang again

I'm glad it didn't start raining again, cos we got to sit around eating and chatting for a while, just catching up. it was nice
we were pretty close to the music though, so we had to yell a bit
after we finished eating, we decided to look around for desert

and discovered this lantern installation

Jess was entertained

there was this one funny wonky lantern

we decided to head up to The Lab for some ice cream
there's been this new trend of ice cream made with nitrogen lately

there was an interactive Telstra booth on the way there so we nabbed this photo
thanks Jess for sending it to us

I love how the staff dress up in lab coats
and they have beakers and other lab equipment as faux kitchen utensils

then we grabbed a seat and waited for our orders to come out

that sauce is really concentrated

Jess got choc hazelnut
I heard they rotate the menu every so often, so it's never quite the same

dry ice? or liquid nitrogen?
it was pretty neat to watch

Brandon got a chocolate shake

and I stuck with normal milk chocolate
which was actually kind of really good

Vi later came and joined us for ice cream, which was fun
She was hilarious, as always

and we gave B his presents :)

it was a fun night,
good food and awesome conversation
