Cinematic Orchestra

so today Selina and I were headed into the city at night to see
THE CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA
who are awesome

I bought this bow tie because idk I thought I should be classy
since the concert was in Hamer Hall
also you can never have enough bow ties
bow ties are cool

headed into the city, the sun was already setting as I left

took these while waiting for Selina to arrive
her train got held up for ages right outside Flinders for some reason
she literally spent like 20 minutes with the train being a few metres from the platform but not close enough to get off
I had more than enough time to get things to eat

so yea we were late
like 40 minutes late
woops

I felt really out of place because everyone in there seemed cultured, sophisticated and rich
I am none of those

they played their newer stuff which I didn't really recognise
it was kind of like progressive jazzy stuff

the team taking a bow at the end of the concert
they played a stripped down version of "To Build a Home" that I really liked too

empty

the entrance
am i high society yet

afterwards we went around trying to find places to eat that were open
we ran around a fair bit, it was quite late
finally we found a (Malay/Thai?) place that opens overnight
actually I think we ate there once
it's called Chilli Padi I think

really good, cheap street food
I have no idea if it was authentic or not because well I'm not Malay
since I was absolutely starving I ordered way too much
but everything was delicious

Selina's Starbucks

That Home feat. Patrick Watson

stayed at Chilli Padi for a long while just chatting, it was nice
there was also a mouse scurrying around underneath the tables
it looked really small and fragile, I wanted to pick it up and hold it
but it was too timid to come near anybody

after that, got Weiss from 7/11 and wandered through an empty MC to wait for our train home

shoe

bag

i did this

eye

& my bow tie

then got driven home
