Brighton

Today I accompanied Selina to the Holocaust Museum in Elsternwick
For some reason it's related to her uni course
We got there early so we had a bit of a breakfast while waiting for the museum to open

We went into a cute little bagel place.
I got a caramel donut and hot choc. Felt like I needed a heavy dose of sugar
It was freaking early in the morning

While Selina got an actual bagel
After eating we wandered up and down Glen Huntly Rd
Found a quaint toy store that I immediately invaded like a crazy person
I got these dinosaur tattoos for 20c each!!
How awesome are they, seriously

Best things ever.
Selina got a pink googly eyed penguin pen
Then we went up to the museum

We watched a documentary about Rwanda and one of the people who helped create the film was there to explain it to us. It was kind of eye-opening, both to the state of the country and the film-making process. Pretty heavy stuff too.
I don't know if I could forgive the man who slaughtered my entire family.

After that we went through the exhibit section and then had a break for lunch. I need to remember to read Anne Frank's diary.
We headed up to Nando's for some Peri Peri chips, stopping by a candy store on the way where Selina filled up her bag with lollies.

Our dinosaur tatts

& my Nerds Rope
After lunch we decided to skip the rest of the excursion and go play
Headed into the city first, I picked up something for my camera
Then we decided to take a train down to Brighton beach on a whim

I was looking for a filter like this, except in the stores we visited they were all $50 - 90. I was getting a bit annoyed because I was SURE that I'd seen them for cheaper on the internet...Luckily we found a store that had a bargain bin that Selina pointed out to me. They were like $10 each.
It was pretty amazing, I wasn't definitely wasn't expecting to actually find any today. It's pretty good quality too actually, made from some kind of metal. Except I got sand in it now.
Oh well.

Brighton beach

I was preoccupied taking random photos, and I hear Selina call over, "Eddy, you've got to see this." Right around the road, we had an awesome view of the city.

We decided to hike over to the colourful beach houses down a ways
Check out this lady's ridiculously well dressed kid
He was a rather cute kid I must admit

This is my 'I-hate-nature' face.

Reached the beach shacks and just sat, ate snacks and talked for a long time
There were a lot of wedding couples taking photos here today, it was a bit crazy
I think we saw about 4 or 5 in total

Selina's chocolate frog from the candy store

These things are addictive

And Selina requested I take a photo of her hair

We found this dead fish, I thought it was quite sad how it was just this corpse rolling around in the waves. Then what looks like a homeless guy walks by, stares at it, and declares that it's still alive. I'm not so sure...I saw seagulls pecking at it.

Sat and watched the sun go down

And took selfies

The city lights at night

Sometimes it's nice just to spontaneously pick a random spot, go there, and get away from everything. Unfortunately we had to head back a bit early; Selina got an urgent call that turned out to be a false alarm.
Oh well, good day anyway
Till next blog
