When myki first came out, I used to always get a receipt.
I don't really care about it now, I don't get one if there's a line as it's kind of inconvenient. Actually the whole myki system is kind of inconvenient.
I didn't know what to do with all my old receipt stubs so I folded them into cranes.
It kind of looks like Haku from Spirited Away in this picture.
These are some photos I took of a mock-up for a poster for Typography.
I was seriously cramming my folio in, it took so much longer than I expected.
I always say I'll learn from past semesters and work on it earlier
I never do.
Here's how it went down:
Wednesday
- woke up at 11am, which is pretty early for me. usually if I don't have anything to do I wake up in the afternoon...
- had to pick up some stuff from Officeworks so my mum drove me
- she did some grocery shopping at Chaddy on the way
- it took 3 hours wat
- got home around 6pm
- worked on my typography folio all night...literally. I realised I did one of the briefs wrong the first time around, woops. I stuffed up some of the criteria really badly. I hope my tutor didn't notice...
Thursday
- finish my folio around 9am
- print off my mock-up (the poster above)
- add some finishing touches, complete it around 1pm
- head to Prahran to get it printed. I'm super slow getting ready to leave since I'm so sleep deprived. Like I can feel myself moving at a snail's pace but can't be bothered hurrying
- 2 hours later I manage get to the bus station for the 3:06 bus
- it's been 20 minutes and the bus still isn't here, I'm getting annoyed
- I walk to another bus stop that has a bus arriving in a few minutes
- as I reach that other bus stop, I see two buses pass me by from the stop I just left. TWO.
- the bus that I'm now waiting for is also late
- by 15 minutes
- ...
- ARGH. I have the worst luck with public transport
- arrive at Prahran, buy some cardboard for my design journal, and go to print off my poster
- get told that the waiting list for printing off A1 posters (the required format) goes until late tomorrow afternoon...that's past the submission time
- on top of that, the computer won't read the fonts in my poster for some stupid reason
- head home in a bad mood. basically I travelled 2½ hours just to buy a few pieces of cardboard.
- fix the glitch in my fonts and head to Officeworks around 10pm. I'm hoping they can print my poster off
- they'll have it by 11am tomorrow...good enough
- work on my other design subject, Introduction to Communication Design, all night
I'll interrupt that lengthy text block with a picture. Here's a poster idea I ended up not using.
My work process that night was so slow, and I kept zoning out. Since I had been awake for around 36+ hours now, I was constantly drifting off LOL. It's as bad as it sounds.
I remember having very strange, random thoughts, like the kind you have in dreams. Something along the lines of "I wonder what will happen if I don't finish this in time. Matt Preston might be mad but it's OK because the golden dragonfly is there to save me".
Seriously.
I had to shake myself awake after that.
Because I was so slow, I ended up spending the entire night again, and finished by around 9am
Friday
- head to Officeworks to collect my poster, it looks pretty rad
- go to uni and print off my folio things. gonna rant about a bit of a pet peeve here. I hate it when people sit in front of computers they're not using. especially in the computer lab at Prahran, there's limited space and limited Macs to use...
- get some of my things bound and submit it
- run into a friend and have lunch at Lucky Coq. I haven't eaten anything but a single hash brown since maybe 9pm last night, oops. I find when I pull all nighters I lose my appetite completely
- get home 4:30 PM and flop into bed
So I was awake doing work from Wed 11AM to Fri 4:30PM doing work...that's officially 53.5 hours I've been consecutively awake.
aahahahah..
After that I had a few days to study for my one exam
This is a pretty good example of my study food
I don't get waffles often and they're one of my absolute favourite foods ever, so it warrants a photo ok
Other study food consists of Continental Soup
Check out my super organised study notes in the background
You can probably tell how much attention I pay in lectures
More study food. I think I just eat when I'm bored...I ate this whole packet the night before my exam, hehe.
These are my favourite kind of lollies, sweet and chewy
Finished my exam and went to have Wonderbao with a uni friend.
I was half an hour late for it. I originally planned to arrive half an hour early, but the trains on my line weren't running because of a fallen wire, sigh. The train therefore arrived an hour late, and it was too full for anyone to get on when it arrived at the station. Then the next train, which was supposed to be an express, started stopping at every station.
Of course this happens to me, on my exam day.
I told you I have the worst luck with public transport.
I hope I'm in the same classes as my friend next semester, it's hard to make new friends each semester..
These are just random photos since exams ended. I didn't end up being able to do Winter Term, so I guess I'll do more art over the break and maybe get a job. Maybe.
Extorted my brother into buying this for me.
Extorted my mother into buying this for me. It gave me a cruel stomachache though.
Took advantage of clear skies for some night photography
I wanted this GIF to be longer but the moon ruined it
Practising my retouching skills with some minestrone
Bought a new bed frame
It's nice but now I need an actual bed
I started keeping a daily journal last year simply because I realised my memory is super shoddy
Like right now, if I try to remember what happened last week or even yesterday, I can't remember a thing
It's such a good memory aid
It's how I blog things months later and manage to remember anything at all
EDIT: woops forgot to include this last time
My breakfast had a smiley face that morning
Went to IKEA to browse and buy some junk
