Selina's Belated Birthday

We met up to celebrate Selina's birthday today, a few weeks late because of exams.

But everybody was free today so all's good.

Met up at 2:30 to watch The Great Gatsby, I don't have any photos of my own since I was running late (what's new) so you can have this gifset from tumblr. I made it there before the trailers started though, so I wasn't too late today.

I liked the movie, I thought it was a pretty good adaptation of the book, which I read just recently after seeing the awesome trailer.
After the movie finished we went bowling at Strike.

As you can see, I'm absolutely terrible and I did not improve at all.
It was kind of ironic, because Ed Sheeran started playing while it was Selina's turn to bowl, and Florence and Bastille started playing when it was my turn, but luck was still not on my side. Yechhh.

After bowling, we went to Mama Sichuan for all you can eat hotpot.

This is what Selina grabs at an all-you-can-eat buffet.

+ soup (I'm just a weirdo, I wanted to see what it tasted like)

Steph and I had an ice cream eating contest which failed because we both couldn't stop laughing

I lost the first time but then won the rematch, haha

I got ridiculously excited by this fondue fountain.

After we were all stuffed, we got out the cake and presents. "Happy Birthday" started playing over the intercom which was fun + unexpected.

Then we gave Selina her presents.

Wynne accidentally locked her presents inside the house before leaving, ahaha

Jess gave Selina an awesome scarf.

And I gave her my painting.

After that we parted ways with the group. Selina, Steph & I stayed behind to chat.

Tried getting a seat in the Asian Beer Cafe but it was packed. So we just sat under the clock tower in MC and caught up before Steph had to leave.

Since it was too late to catch the show we wanted to at the jazz bar, we headed to Crown and sat for a while before Selina's parents dropped me off home.

Got home exhausted, it was a good day though.

With Selina's belated birthday coming up I thought I should do something

And for some deluded reason I thought it would be a good idea to paint something
Despite the fact that I'm terrible at it, I don't have the patience for paint or watercolours
Selina knows this from when we painted the Unic Homes banner
I hope she realises the amount of pain that went into this

So I grabbed this blank canvas and some orange paint

I decided to paint a picture of Ed Sheeran's face since Selina is obsessed at the moment

I hate it when things that you're drawing look good at the start and then gradually look worse as you add more stuff. Got that feeling a little while working on this, it was lovely.

At this point I took a break to let the paint dry
And then got sidetracked on the computer for a little bit
Only like 6 hours

Thought this random pattern looked like a little critter sitting on a chair reading a book, it made me laugh
Actually that may have been the sleep deprivation

I am so sick of the colour orange
I don't even like it normally
Also after looking up from painting, everything was kind of tinted orange

Finished around 8 in the morning, so I had the time for a few hours of sleep before going to watch The Great Gatsby AHAHA.
Painted that + before I left the house.
It kind of looks like Ed Sheeran if you squint
Just don't hold up the actual picture next to it and it looks fine
