The Paper Kites are one of my favourite bands.
They would be considered an indie band, but they're so so good.
So when I heard they were having a free concert, I just HAD to go.
The concert was in Fed Square. I was so pumped for today that I broke my headphones on the train.
It was HOT today, like 39°. Lucky we managed to shotgun these sunchairs under the shade, where we chilled until they came on.
Downed two of these, seriously can't stand hot weather.
I've obviously mastered the art of selfies.
Dragged Selina along with me today because I didn't want to be that loner at a concert all by themself surrounded strangers etc. I feel bad because I basically forced her to melt with me.
We had a pretty good view, until it got crowded as fuuuuu
Selina suggested we head down to get closer.
I did not like the idea of getting closer to people (because it was boiling, but also generally as well).
I'm glad we did decide to move nearer, got to see them pretty close up which was awesome.
THANKS SELINA FOR DRAGGING ME OUT OF MY ANTI-SOCIAL SHELL.
No but really.
Giants like this should not be allowed to stand in crowds. There should be a law against it or something.
They played a short set, mostly from their Woodland EP.
Bloom and Featherstone got massive cheers from the audience of course, they ended with Mortal Boy King which is my favourite at the moment so I recorded that one.
Afterwards they had a signing, but I didn't see anything I wanted to buy. Hot weather makes me impatient, did not want to wait in a 30 minute line to get a tea towel. ceeeeebs.
The concert was AWESOME though, PLUS it was free. Totally worth sweating it out in 39 degree weather.
Wandered around aimlessly after the concert looking for a place to have dinner, and this group of people on minibikes randomly appeared from nowhere.
They were recording something, looked like fun haha. It was pretty random. NOT LIKE IN THE TWEEN GIRL SENSE "OMG I'M SO RANDOM" but you know. Urgh. Tweens.
Found a cute little Italian diner on Urbanspoon to have dinner at.
Uh Selina asked me to lean back for this photo (idk why) sooo it looks AWKWARD. Meh.
I look like an old person who can't read properly and has to lean back. You know the one.
I think this is the first photo of my Finn bag on this blog. THANKS CAF IT'S AWESOME. Actually someone at the concert pointed it out, which made me happy.
They were like "THAT'S FINN" and I was like "Yep".
Cool story bro.
Always get something deep fried if you can.
Selina had the baked macaroni. Obviously she's an adult.
Chicken & Mushroom Risotto, I love risotto. This one was really nice.
Their famous Tiramisu which surprisingly lived up to expectations, it was deliiiciouuuusss.
Light and fluffy. Which is also the secret to good omelettes.
Definitely going back to this restaurant in the future, it was quite genuine and had a nice atmosphere. Love it when you find good restaurants.
Although we didn't order much we were quite full, decided to stroll down to Crown.
I played the cup song with a plastic bottle in this lobby. I was terrible at it, so basically I was just a massive public nuisance, you're welcome. If you don't know what the cup song is, then good, because that's embarrassing.
Selina pretending to be posh.
Headed outside to discover it had cooled down pleasantly. It was nice and breezy.
Was an awesome day.
Nothing like good food and good conversations.
Till next blogg
