it kind of makes me wonder if pen pals still exist. i personally never had one, as a child i was pretty much off with the fairies in my own world, but after watching mary & max i really wonder what it would be like to have a pen pal.
if you haven't watched mary & max, go watch it! it's a claymation done by an aussie studio, and the story is half-based in mt waverley so that's pretty freaking awesome.
by the way, if you're wondering why i'm only typing in lowercase, i'm trying to be spontaneous. it's not really working, so far the only thing i've accomplished is really hurting my fingers and probably damaging my eyes trying to type this up.
this is the card i made for selina.
this design was pretty spontaneous too. i say 'spontaneous', but what i really mean is 'done 3 days after i was supposed to have sent it'.
as a consequence of completing the card ridiculously late, i decided to hand deliver it straight to her house to make up for my chronic inability to do anything punctually.
...total mistake.
but we'll get to that later.
earlier that day i was at uni running off some errands.
how cool is that alien poster??? it reminds me of those cheesy 1950s sci-fi B movies.
found this cat sleeping in a secondhand book store. at least, i think it was sleeping. dunno.
headed to chaddy to print off photos at harvey norman. i printed off some photos from the florence concert and stuffed them into the envelope too, as some kind of deluded compensation for being a week late with this letter.
...did i say a week late?
i was a week late.
i love the feeling of sending letters, it's damn cool.
can someone please explain to me the appeal of igloo zoo? i've had it a zillion times already and nothing about it justifies the $10 price tag for me.
except when other people pay, but.
it was getting late around now. people who live in melbourne will know that it's been getting ridiculously dark ridiculously early. and to top it off, on this particular day, the weather was decidedly atrocious.
don't you just love it when the myki's out of order?
haha, i thought that face in the bottom photo looked awfully like a cactuar.
i'm going to tell you anyway.
so i got out of the bus to walk to selina's house. by this point it was raining so hard that streams of water were flowing down the road, and the wind was at the point where it kept flipping my umbrella inside out. so even though i took out my umbrella, my jeans were getting soaked through, and my shoes felt like the equivalent of soggy cardboard tissue boxes.
i still somehow make it to her house in the dark, with the rain pouring down so hard that it was difficult to read street signs when i was standing directly underneath them. don't ask me how that works. maybe it's just my eyesight.
okay, i may be exaggerating just a little.
but it was literally this dark outside. and this was only about 5:30 pm! like, whaaat?
i'm definitely complaining way too much in this post.
here's a good thing though!
picked up a tripod while i was at harvey norman waiting for the photos to print.
preeeetty sweeet. i was torn between this and a joby gorilla tripod, but i decided on this since it's way taller.
was also super pumped to get my lacie usb key in the mail the other day.
IT'S A USB. AND IT'S A KEY. HOW AWESOME IS THAT???
there are a lot of errors in this post, but i am way too tired to care anymore. also i broke my anti-uppercase rule right at the very end. but it's justified since the awesomeness cannot be contained.
