the twins always have their birthday so much later than the rest of us that it's like, "huh? shouldn't you already be this old"
drove down to the twin's house for their annual b'day BBQ
here I am cooking my favourite lap cheong Chinese sausage thingies
they're the bomb
these were the peeps sitting around my barbeque
since I was too lazy to move from my #1 priority (food fyi you should know that by now)
I do like BBQing, but I think I'm too lazy and get distracted easily which leads to my food dipping into the coals a lot
it's okay, charcoal is 100% part of a balanced diet and you can quote me on that
also I get lazy and just lean my food on other people's instead of holding it, usually Homan because he gets the most annoyed
sorry Homan
actually that photo above is probably me capturing his reaction to that as I get up to grab more food
we played this game called Black Stories
it's a kind of semi-morbid detective game based around homicides
honestly we (or maybe just myself) weren't the greatest at it LMAO the scenarios were so far-fetched that trying to approach it logically was hard
peeps from the other BBQ!
our groups kinda merged after a while after we were all getting full, to roast marshmallows
and continued chattin + playin Black Stories
there was a zombie apocalypse scenario that was just ridiculous omg but Caf somehow managed to guess a lot of facts about it randomly
went inside and took some more group shots haha
Judie made some tasty jelly tarts, you can see the twins holding em
they were nice I love custard cheesecake-y things
then we gave the twins their presents
we were also looking at viral vids for some reason
may have shown everybody the berries guy against their will
my berries
Heiman got some swanky new shoes
and then we either forced him to pose..or he just posed by himself
yea I can't remember which one happened and quite honestly it could be either one
not sure if these guys are laughing at the posing or at something Wilson said
Homan's present
we got him a watch
ya thts all folks!

gaelic harp icin' n bakin'
went over to Selina's house to bake some cookies with icing
we got inspired by this one baking youtuber who talks in a ridiculously soft voice with like, gaelic Celtic harps and shit playing in the background
and we were like, "we can do that !"
we were wrong
we could not do that
the sugar cookies part went fine and dandy
I think we ate most of them and left just a few for icing
our first attempt at icing did not...go the greatest
okay actually it went terribly
the pipes we had bought were wayy too large and made it really difficult to get it right
I've never baked or iced anything before, let alone using whatever technique this was that we were using (I totally forgot what it's called but Selina knows)
so I just handed over all control to Selina
anyway she asked me to improvise new piping bags and I made some provisionary ones out of baking paper and tape and desperation and hope
and we actually managed to get some decent looking cookies!
well, in my opinion
I don't think they were as perfect as Selina was hoping for
not by any means terrible
I mean those edges are jank but
compared to this next one
I mean this was one of my first attempts
and this is by all means terrible
it's just
so bad
ready to go in the fridge
Selina's candle obsession
this one turned out the best I reckon
so today was an interesting lesson in how not to cook things
#1 try not to accidentally smear icing all over absolutely everything
#2 try not to spill flour absolutely everywhere
