Le Petit Prince

Just some stuff that's been happening at uni

Normally I'd start in chronological order but I wanted to post this first
Found this book in an old book shop at the Hawthorn campus
It's one of my all time favourite books, everrr

Found this old car for sale, $3,500
"1956 M8 JAGUAR"
I thought it was cool but since I'm poor and can't drive
It's not an option

Dinner at Crown
I don't go here much
But those calamari rings were delicious

My hands had this weird pattern on them for some reason
(Yes, this post is really jumbled)

Empty train, first time I've ever been the only person in the entire carriage
It was kinda spooky but also nice & peaceful

Typical lecture notes
Half doodling and half scribbles
1% lecture content
Haha my friends keep asking me why I draw creepy shit
I draw other stuff too, guess I'll post photos later

At uni they had this bicycle which blended your own free smoothie as you pedaled
I was almost tempted
But ultimately too lazy to actually exercise for food
I think the last time I legitimately exercised was in Year 10 P.E...
That's like, 3 - 4 years ago

Macca's new Waffle Cone, don't get it, it's shit

Noodle Box Kway Teow
Always feels good when the waiter complements you on your order
I feel like I take a lot more photos of food on my phone now haha
I guess it's just more acceptable when everyone else is doing it too
I don't Instagram them though!

Our Marketing lecturer is pretty cool
I know all about working in Kodak now
I took a picture because there's a horse mask in one of the pictures
Thought it was funny + relevant

Went inside St Paul's Cathedral for the first time
It was awesome
I really admire detailed architecture
I should go back someday with my camera

Spotted this cool R2D2 tin can in an op shop
Didn't buy it though
Because I'm trying to break my habit of impulse buying completely useless things
That I never use

FOUND THIS BOOK IN AN OP SHOP
On the same day
It's one of my favourite books by Stephen King
It's a compilation of short stories
Now I have to find my favourite one
Which is called "Skeleton Crew"

Some snow at Uni
In Australia all our snow is rock hard, it's sad
Apparently in the Northern hemisphere all the snow is super soft & fluffy?
whaaat

Submitted my first folio for this subject
I got my tutor's name wrong, it's actually Keith

TYPE

Posting some design stuff I did the other day:

My half-assed attempt to fold an origami bee.
My theme for the brief was Japan, so I came up with the idea of using origami + Japanese colours
The brief was so vague, nobody is our class knew what we were doing? We were supposed to make the letters T, Y, P & E based around a theme. Our tutor reprimanded some people for directly creating letters e.g. out of clay or branches, but then went and reprimanded other people for using letters they found in the environment e.g. signage.
It was so confusing and frustrating, especially since it was our first brief of the year.

My last attempt at a hornet/bee, by this stage I had a multitude of failures (bee corpses I like to call them) lying around on my table. I didn't bother to take a photo on my actual camera, so you can have this crappy Instagram one instead.

I had to fold a lot of origami.

Like tons.

My first letter T was based around the ocean since Japan is an island and consumes quite a lot of seafood.

My second letter Y was based around modern cities of Japan.

First time I set this up, I accidentally exhaled too loudly and blew them all down.
Wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, since it was 2am and I was so exhausted.

Had to stack these freaking towers one by one...
Sorry these photos are all squares, the brief required a square-shaped image so I thought it would just be easier to take it 1x1 format on my camera to speed up the editing process.

Blowing them all down (after getting a photo this time) sure was satisfying.
Sorry about that crappy GIF, my room has pretty bad lighting...I need a new light

Third concept was flowers..and birds? I think I tried to pass off this concept as Ikebana or something but to be honest I was super tired at this stage and just wanted to make simple origami haha.

E had some traditional origami patterns, and also boats because these were quick and easy to fold.

My final TYPE.
I submitted it at 5:35am exactly. My tutor totally called me out the next day, he was like, "Nice to see some of you worked hard and submitted it early. Compared to others who obviously left theirs to the last minute, I think the latest submission I had was at 5am!"

I may have complained a lot in this post but I was pretty happy with my outcome, and my tutor liked it in the end too so all's good.
