Recently got a CISS for my printer
CISS stands for Continuous Ink Supply System
I was tired of paying $40+ for ink cartridges that run out super quickly
It's basically an ink reservoir that feeds ink continually into your cartridges so that you don't have to replace them. Instead you just refill the ink in the tank, it costs around $10 for 100ml so that's a huge saving considering normal ink cartridges only hold 10ml of ink.
What can I say, I'm cheap.
These were my hands after installing it, I'm a messy klutz as you can see.
You may be wondering why I keep my figurines in packaging, and my answer is that it's because I'm one of those insane neurotic freaks who keep everything perfect and preserved behind glass instead of actually using it.
I forgot to include this in the last post but Wilson got me this FLORENCE + THE MACHINE mug from Shanghai. He probably doesn't read this but if ya do, THANKS MAN.
Officially one step closer to becoming the Mad Hatter.
I never take selfies usually but somebody demanded one from me
Perhaps they wanted to blind themselves
I always seem to miss out on free uni stuff, they were setting up this cool jumping castle thing but the event started in 1.5 hours...ceebs waiting.
Later on Facebook I saw that the event consisted of people racing on the inflatables for free movie tickets, sounded entertaining
I didn't miss out on this one though, free henna tattoos! I thought it was awesome. Looking back though, other people got way more awesome designs than me...I had about 10 mins before class started to get one.
Also I smeared a bit of the ink on my friend's HERSCHEL bag, I felt and still feel extremely guilty.
Had $4 pizza at Lucky Coq to celebrate the last design class, it was nice. Lucky Coq is always good, I'll miss it when the Prahran campus closes
Bought some cakes home for my mum's birthday.
Sorry about all the combined photos, it's just that I don't really want to make mobile-phone-quality enormous pictures on my blog, especially portrait orientated ones...I think it'd take up too much space and look crappy.
Wasn't quite the supermoon, but.
If you haven't noticed by now, I'm obsessed with staring at the moon.
I would really like to go to the moon one day. I wonder if technology will advance far enough in my lifetime for that to happen.
I tried the telescope thing again, turned out a lot better this time but still not as clear as I'd like. Maybe I should give up and buy a telephoto lens eh.
Me + mum paid a visit to Pho Chu The as we heard it's the best pho in Melbourne.
It was quiet today
These are some big ass bowls.
It was good, I love pho.
Especially on cold days.
Drink for the ride home.
So today was Free Comic Book Day
It's a day where participating comic book shops around the whole world give out free comics
I think it's a nice idea to get people into comics
Plus I dig free shit
Wasn't sure whether to go or not since I value sleep more than going outside my house
But I decided last minute that I'd go see what it was all about
I went to All Star Comics on Lonsdale St.
There were comic book artists doing free sketches for people, I thought I'd head inside and grab some comics first since this is what the line looked like when I arrived..
Anybody else spot the 6-foot tall model looking person?? I was like "What the heck are you doing here"
The staff were dressed as superheroes
And some people came dressed up too, bumped into a Mystique on the staircase who was painted completely blue
I grabbed a few free comics
They're just samplers though
You were allowed to take up to 4, which is pretty generous
Went to line up for some drawings
I had pretty bad luck
Waited about half an hour in line, and by the time I reached the front it was time for the artists to swap to the next person
Then the person who was supposed to come and draw for our line was late and couldn't make it..
AHHHHRGGHH.
This girl dressed up as a zombie, it was pretty awesome
Look at that wound
She had some heavy duty makeup on
Iron Man + Captain America crashed the party
These people put some serious effort into their costumes
This guy's Iron Man armour glowed in the lightbulby spots and on the palms
I was allowed to take any comic except that Adventure Time one on the table...whaat (heartbroken)
Got my free sketch and headed home
Some people in the line already had 5 or 6 sketches done for them??!?
It took me until 4pm just to get one, sighh...I think I waited for 1½ hours blah
I can't complain though since it was all for free
I seriously feel for those people drawing, they were just going at it non-stop for 1 - 2 hours with no breaks for food or anything
You can see a plate of uneaten sandwiches behind these two guys in this photo
Props to them
Heading home
Stuff I got today
I forgot who drew the picture for me, but it's Rorsharch from Watchmen :D
I like him because he's mentally unstable
I can relate.
Also nabbed Spongebob, Superman and THE WALKING DEAD
+ a random one I grabbed while waiting in line
If you don't know, The Walking Dead is based on a comic
I can say after seeing both, I think for once the TV adaptation is actually better
It just has a better atmosphere and tension, in my opinion
After that I just went home and read my comics
